CALGARY, July 7 /CNW/ - Base Oil & Gas Ltd. ("Base" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: BOG) is pleased to announce that at its annual and special meeting of shareholders held today, all resolutions considered and voted upon received requisite shareholder approval. Dennis Feuchuk, Don Van Tetering, Don Cameron, Richard M. Alexander and Henry Sykes were all re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Company. The Company is also pleased to announce that R. Bruce Hammond has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Company.

Mr. Hammond is retired from Valiant Energy Inc. as of September 2006 where he was President, Chief Operating Officer and a director. Prior thereto he was Sr. Vice President Exploration for Forte Resources from April 2002 to July 2005. Mr. Hammond has over 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on exploration geology. Mr. Hammond is a graduate of McMaster University and holds the designation of Professional Geologist.

Base is a Calgary based emerging oil and gas company, focused on the development of oil & gas reserves in the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin.
